The port has been constructed step-by-step by, first constructing a hydro technical equipment to stabilize a submarine pipe discharging the treated wastewaters inside the sea, and then constructing the already existing north-fencing mole, which has been finished without completing the quay wall thereto.
The next stage is the construction of the south fencing mole and the piers to receive vessels, which has been built up and handed over by signing the state protocol form 16.
The port is part of the assets of the shareholder company with state participation “Golden Sands”.
Presently, the completed sector of the port is used and boats are temporarily moored to the unfinished northern sector of the quay, adjoining the territory.
Due to being located on a shore open to the strong winds and storms, the port does not provide good ship protection in winter. In the summer the port is comparatively well protected and only in time of the south-east “lodos” wind unpleasant reflected waves are formed because the axis at the port entrance is directed to the south.
